I've installed an update or upgrade of PocketBible but it's still showing the old version.

When you install an update or an upgrade then it will over-write your previous version if you install to the same location. However, if you have the old version installed to main memory and then you install the update or upgrade to a storage card (or vice versa) then you will still have files left over from the previous version. You may still be accessing the old files instead of the new ones you installed.

To completely eliminate your PocketBible application files use the following procedure. Then reinstall the latest version of PocketBible.

  1. On your Pocket PC do a soft reset.
  2. Go to Start, Settings, System on your Pocket PC.
  3. Select Remove Programs and remove Laridian PocketBible.
  4. Synch your Pocket PC to the computer so they are connected.
  5. On your desktop PC double-click My Computer.
  6. Select Tools, Folder Options, and View.
  7. Make sure there is a mark in Show hidden files and folders.
  8. Exit My Computer.
  9. In ActiveSync, on your desktop computer, click Explore.
  10. Double-click My Pocket PC (or it might say My Windows Mobile Device) and your storage card folder (assuming you have a storage card).
  11. Do you see a Laridian PocketBible folder (not Laridian Books)? If yes, right-click the folder and select Delete.
  12. Click the back button until you see My Pocket PC / My Windows Mobile Device again.
  13. Double-click My Pocket PC / My Windows Mobile Device, Windows and then Start Menu.
  14. Right-click the PocketBible file and select Delete.

Now you're ready to reinstall PocketBible. You should do a fresh download of the most current version of PocketBible from your Laridian account and you should install it to MAIN memory, not a storage card.
