PocketBible hangs when I tap the icon to open.

When you tap the PocketBible icon, if it appears to open and then doesn't, this occurs when there is a corrupted file. Following is instructions on how to trouble-shoot the problem.

Do you have your Bible and books on a storage card?  If yes, remove the card and open PocketBible.

Does it open?  It might state that no books are found but we will know that it opened. If yes, it opens then the bad file is on the card. Do a soft reset, delete the Laridian Books folder on the card and reinstall your books.

If it still doesn't open with the card removed, the bad file is in main memory. If you don't have any notes or bookmarks that need to be saved, delete the Laridian Books folder under My Documents in main memory and then give PocketBible another try.

If you have trouble deleting the folder, do a soft reset and then try the deletion again.

If you DO have notes and bookmarks that need to be saved, open \My Documents\Laridian Books and delete all files EXCEPT the Laridian Data file. Then try PocketBible. If it still fails then your Laridian Data file is corrupted. You will need to delete it and start over with notes and bookmarks or restore a backup.

How do I delete files on my Pocket PC? There are a couple of different ways that you can use to delete files but the easiest for most people is the following method.

  1. Do a soft reset on your Pocket PC.
  2. Connect your Pocket PC to the computer and Microsoft ActiveSync will open.
  3. In ActiveSync, click the Explore button at the top.
  4. Double-click My Pocket PC (or it might say My Windows Mobile-based Device).
  5. If you're deleting files from the card then double-click the folder that represents your storage card. If you're deleting files from main memory then double-click the My Documents folder.
  6. Right-click the folder or file you want to delete and select Delete.
