Error (###) accessing database 'Laridian Data'...

This error indicates that the data file that stores your notes and bookmarks has been damaged. To resolve this issue you will need to delete the Laridian Data file as follows:

PocketBible 3 or later version instructions:

  1. On your Pocket PC, shut down all applications and then do a soft reset.
  2. Synchronize your handheld with the desktop or laptop computer.
  3. In ActiveSync, click the Explore button at the top.
  4. Double-click My Windows Mobile-based Device (or it might say My Pocket PC).
  5. Double-click My Documents and then Laridian Books.
  6. Right-click the Laridian Data.db file and select Delete.
  7. Exit Explore.
  8. Open PocketBible and the file will be recreated as a blank file.
  9. If you have a backup of your notes and bookmarks, select the Restore option on the Edit menu in PocketBible to restore your backup.
  10. If you do not have a backup of this file, you will need to start over with your notes and bookmarks.

PocketBible 2 instructions:

  1. On your Windows CE / Pocket PC handheld, shut down all applications and then do a soft reset.
  2. Synchronize your handheld with the desktop or laptop computer.
  3. In ActiveSync, click the Explore button at the top.
  4. Double-click My Pocket PC (or it may show My Windows Mobile-based Device).
  5. Double-click My Documents and then Laridian Books.
  6. Right-click the Laridian Data.ldb file and select Delete.
  7. Exit Explore.
  8. Open PocketBible and the file will be recreated as a blank file.
  9. If you have a backup of your notes and bookmarks, select the Restore option on the Edit menu in PocketBible to restore your backup.
  10. If you do not have a backup of this file, you will need to start over with your notes and bookmarks.

NOTE for PocketBible 2 users: If you are attempting to copy your notes and bookmarks from one device to another, then you may receive this error. It is generally not possible to simply copy the data file from one device to another, due to limitations in the operating system. You must use the Backup and Restore option available on the Edit menu in PocketBible to backup the file from one Windows CE / Pocket PC handheld and restore it to another.
