Why does the text look fuzzy?

Microsoft ClearType uses color to increase the apparent resolution of the text. For many people, this is an improvement, but for others, the result is that the text looks fuzzy. PocketBible and DailyReader allow you to choose whether or not you want to use ClearType.

  1. With the application open, tap View and Options.
  2. Take the check mark out of the box for Clear Type.
  3. Tap OK and OK.
  4. Tap the keyboard icon in the lower right corner to open the keyboard.
  5. Tap CTL and Q to Quit the application (do not tap the X in the corner).
  6. Go back into the application and the text should no longer be fuzzy.
If the text continues to look fuzzy after following these suggestions, you may be using a VGA device with an older version of PocketBible that did not provide full support to VGA. To check your version of PocketBible, open the application. Tap View and About PocketBible. Your version should be 2.027 or later. We do not currently offer full VGA support for DailyReader or Memorize so text may still appear fuzzy in those applications.
