Priority Code:

The book "\My Documents\Laridian Books\[file name]" is damaged...

This error will occur most frequently with PocketBible but could also appear in DailyReader or Memorize! If the application you've selected detects that a file is damaged, it will not use that file. In order to use it again, you'll need to delete and reinstall that file (or restore a backup). The location and name of the damaged file is included in the error message. There are two ways to delete the damaged file:

  • Use File Explorer on the handheld device
    1. Write down the path and name of the file listed in the error message.
    2. Exit all applications and do a soft reset.
    3. Locate and open File Explorer on the handheld computer.
    4. Navigate to the location that you wrote down in step 1.
    5. Tap and hold your stylus on top of the file listed in the error message. A drop down menu will appear.
    6. Tap Delete and confirm the deletion.
    7. Return to Programs, synch up and reinstall (or restore your backup).
  • Use File Explorer in ActiveSync
    1. Write down the path and name of the file listed in the error message.
    2. Exit all applications and do a soft reset.
    3. Synch your handheld computer with the desktop computer so that ActiveSync opens and shows Connected.
    4. Click Explore listed at the top of the ActiveSync window.
    5. Navigate to the location that you wrote down in step 1 by double-clicking each folder name listed in the error message.
    6. Right-click the file name listed in the error message. A drop down menu will appear.
    7. Select Delete and confirm the deletion.
    8. Exit Explore.
    9. Shut down all background applications and then reinstall (or restore a backup).

NOTE: If the location of the damaged file in the error message refers to IPAQ File Store (IPAQ), Safe Store (Jornada), Built-in Storage (Axim), My Flash Disk (ViewSonic) or Flash ROM (Toshiba), DO NOT reinstall to that location. This is a limited portion of your handheld that may be too small to hold the file you are trying to install. Select NO if asked about installing to any of these locations. If you have a physical storage card that is inserted into the handheld, you can select YES for installing to that location. That location is usually called Storage Card, SD Card, or CF Card.
