How do I upgrade from PocketBible 2 to PocketBible 4?

  • STEP 1: Purchase
    1. Select PocketBible 4 for Windows Mobile on the Order Form.
    2. Select any additional Bibles, books, or other products that you'd like to add at this time.
    3. Do not select duplicate copies of the Bibles and books that you already own.
    4. Scroll to the bottom and Proceed to checkout.
    5. During the checkout process it is VERY important that you tell the system that you are a Returning customer. Otherwise you may not have access to the updated PocketBible 4 books and Bibles that you will need.

    If you need assistance with retrieving your account information, send an email to sales@laridian.com with as much information about your account as possible in order to help us find your account.

    CD Customers: If you purchased a CD from a store, you must register your CD in order to obtain the updated Bibles and books included on your CD.

    If it is a Laridian CD then registration information is included in the documentation that came with your CD.

    If it is an MDM/Zondervan CD then the registration appears at the completion of the installation from the CD. It usually takes about 1 week for us to receive the registration from MDM and then you are entered into the Laridian database. If you'd like to expedite this procedure then send an email to sales@laridian.com after you've completed your registration with MDM (now called Filao).

    After you purchase PocketBible 4 by following the instructions in Step 1, your personal download account will include the updated copies of the Bibles and books that you previously purchased.

     

  • STEP 2: Download
    1. Login to your download account.
    2. Download the installation file for PocketBible 4 (PocketBibleWMSetup.exe).
    3. Download all of the PocketBible 4 versions of your Bibles and books. These versions work with PocketBible 4.
    When downloading you should always select the "Save" option to save the files to a location on your desktop. It is recommended that you create a folder on your DESKTOP specifically for these files. Call the folder "Laridian" or "My PDA Bibles" or something similar that will help you remember what that folder contains. Then, during the download process, make sure you pay attention to the Save in location and select that folder so you know where you can find the files later for installation.
  • STEP 3: Install
    1. Exit all applications on your Pocket PC and then do a soft reset. This ensures that everything is completely shut down so as not to interfere with the new installations.
    2. Connect your Pocket PC to the desktop PC so that ActiveSync shows Connected.
    3. Locate the files you downloaded and saved to your desktop PC.
    4. Double-click the downloaded files and follow the instructions that appear.

NOTE to DailyReader users: PocketBible 4 has incorporated the features of DailyReader into the PocketBible 4 application. Therefore, you no longer need DailyReader as a separate application. You can uninstall your DailyReader application and your DailyReader LDR books (PocketBible 4 uses LBK files). Instructions for uninstalling these products can be found in the Installing section of the Knowledgebase under DailyReader.
