Manual installation instructions for PocketBible 4

Installation of PocketBible 4 requires ActiveSync 4.x. If you can't get it to work or if you prefer to continue to use ActiveSync 3.x, you can manually install PocketBible 4. You need a copy of WinZip (www.winzip.com) or some other zip utility for extracting files from compressed archives.

Download the PocketBible 4 setup program from your download account (PocketBibleWMSetup.exe).

Open the setup program in WinZip.

Extract the appropriate CAB file for your device. Most older devices are Pocket PCs, so you need one of the CAB files that has "PPC" in the name. If your device does not have a touch screen, it is not a Pocket PC. In that case you need the "SP" CAB file. If you have a Pocket PC device (PPC in the CAB file name) you also need to know which processor your device uses: ARM, SH3, or MIPS. Most devices use the ARM processor, but yours could use one of the others. If you don't know what you have you can simply try them one at a time. Select the CAB file that has your processor name in its file name.

Copy the CAB file to your device. You can use the Explore button in ActiveSync to open an explorer window, then drag and drop the CAB file to a folder on your device where you'll be able to find it.

Now, on your device, run File Explorer and make your way to the folder into which you dropped the CAB file. When you find it, tap the CAB file to run it. It will run and install PocketBible. When it's done, it might delete the CAB file and it might not. If it doesn't, you can delete it to make more room on your device.

That's it. PocketBible 4 should now be installed on your device.
