\My Documents\Laridian Books\xxx.lbk requires a newer version of the Laridian book reader....

This error message has 2 main causes:

  • You've upgraded to PocketBible 3 or 4. Since PocketBible 3 and 4 has the DailyReader functions built into the application then you no longer need DailyReader as a separate application. You can uninstall DailyReader.
  • You have not upgraded to PocketBible 3 or 4 and the book you are trying to use needs a newer version of DailyReader. If that is the case, use the following instructions:
    • If you purchased directly from Laridian:
      1. Log back into your Laridian account which shows your DailyReader purchase.
      2. Download the latest version of DailyReader listed on your download page.
      3. Connect your handheld computer to your PC and make sure that ActiveSync shows Connected.
      4. Ensure that DailyReader is not actively running on your handheld (a soft reset will close everything).
      5. Double-click the newly downloaded file to install.
    • If you purchased a download from an online reseller: You can still download the newer version of DailyReader from our website.
      1. Navigate to the Login and Download page.
      2. Use the Forgotten your Customer ID or Password? link to have your Laridian Customer ID and password e-mailed to you. You will need to know the e-mail address that you used when you purchased your software from the online retailer.
      3. Once you receive your Customer ID and password, you can download and install the newer version of DailyReader using the instructions above.
    • If you purchased a CD:
      1. You need to register the CD online by following the instructions on the postcard or instruction sheet that came with the CD if you haven't done so already.
      2. Log into your Laridian account which shows your CD registration.
      3. Download the latest version of DailyReader listed on your download page.
      4. Connect your handheld computer to your PC and make sure that ActiveSync shows Connected.
      5. Ensure that DailyReader is not actively running on your handheld (a soft reset will close everything).
      6. Double-click the newly downloaded file to install.
