Unsupported Device Type

This error occurs if you are installing software designed for one type of Windows CE computer, but you have a different type of Windows CE computer. You need to install the appropriate version of our software based on the type of device that you have:

  • If you have a Pocket PC (even Pocket PC phones), you need the Pocket PC version of our software (no exceptions). Pocket PCs have a touch screen.
  • If you own a Windows Mobile-based Smartphone, you need the Smartphone version of our software. Smartphones do NOT have a touch screen.
  • If you have a Handheld PC 2000 (it looks like a mini laptop), you need the HPC 2000 version of our software.
  • If you have a Palm-size PC, you need the CE 2.x version of our software.
  • If you have a Handheld PC Professional, you need the CE 2.x version of our software.
  • If you have a Handheld PC, you need the CE 2.x version of our software.

If you're not sure what kind of handheld computer you have, check the materials that came with your device or contact sales@laridian.com. Our sales department can determine what you own. Please provide the following information when you make your contact:

  1. Your Laridian Customer ID (if applicable)
  2. The name of the product you purchased
  3. The make and model of the device that you own.

If it is determined that you have the incorrect product AND your purchase was made directly from Laridian within the last 30 days, an exchange can be made.
