Every time I synchronize, my books become damaged.

Microsoft ActiveSync will often corrupt the files if you have File Synchronization turned ON. File synchronization is only needed if you will be updating documents between your Pocket PC and your desktop PC (such as Word or Excel). If you require File Synchronization then you will need to install your books to a storage card to prevent them from getting corrupted or you will need to move the Laridian Books folder out of "My Documents".

  1. On your DESKTOP PC, without the Pocket PC being connected, open Microsoft ActiveSync.
  2. Tap Tools and Options.
  3. Remove the check mark from the box for "Files". This is temporary.
  4. Synch your Pocket PC to the desktop PC.
  5. Reinstall your books and verify that they are all working.
  6. Exit PocketBible by tapping the keyboard icon in the lower right corner. Tap CTL + Q to quit. Do not use the X which may only minimize the application. PocketBible needs to be completely shut down.
  7. In ActiveSync, with the Pocket PC still connected, click the Explore button at the top.
  8. Double-click My Pocket PC and then My Documents.
  9. Right-click the Laridian Books folder and select CUT.
  10. Click BACK so that you see My Pocket PC again.
  11. Double-click My Pocket PC.
  12. Click Edit and Paste.
This will prevent ActiveSync from synchronizing the files and corrupting them. Once you've checked to be sure that all is ok then you can turn File Synchronization back on.
