Priority Code:

Bookloader.exe Entry Point not found

The complete error message is, "Bookloader.exe Entry Point not found. The proceedure entry point CeRegOpenKey could not be located in the dynamic link library RAPI.dll."

We have run into this error message in the past but do not know the cause.  We believe that it's due to a conflict with something else running on the system, most likely some type of security software but we do not know for sure.  When it occurs, the only way to install (until we find the actual cause) is to do a manual installation. It's not difficult, just different.

These instructions require that you have WinZip.  If you do not, go to www.winzip.com  to download and install a demo version. Then use the following instructions for a manual installation:

  1. Open WinZip.
  2. Click Open.
  3. Browse to the location of where you have the file you want to install.
  4. Select the file and click OPEN.  If WinZip isn't seeing the file, make sure you have "All Files" selected at the bottom of the "Open Archive" window.
  5. You should see two files listed.  Click the LBK file so it's highlighted.
  6. Click EXTRACT and select DESKTOP for the extract to location.
  7. Exit WinZip.
  8. Synch your PDA to the desktop computer so they are connected.
  9. With ActiveSync open, click the Explore button.
  10. Double-click My Windows Mobile-based device, My Documents, and Laridian Books (or Storage Card\My Documents\Laridian Books).
  11. Right-click the LBK file you extracted to your Desktop and select Copy.
  12. Right-click in the Laridian Books window and select Paste.  The book will begin copying.
  13. Continue this procedure for all books you need to install.
  14. When it's done, try PocketBible with your new book.
