Priority Code:

Insufficient Memory. Try allocating more memory to programs.

This error message can have a couple of different causes:
  • It could be that you really are low on memory. To check, go to Start and Settings. Select the System tab and then Memory. It is recommended that you have a minimum of 5 megs free for Program Memory and 3 megs free for Storage Memory. You can re-allocate your memory by moving the slider bar left and right.
  • More often, this error message occurs when PocketBible is having difficulty reading information about the books that are installed to a storage card. To test:
    1. Remove the card from the handheld.
    2. Open PocketBible. If it works then it may state that no books are found but you will at least know that it opened and is working.
    3. Exit PocketBible by tapping the keyboard icon in the lower right corner. Tap CTL + Q to quit.
    4. Insert the card.
    5. Open PocketBible. If the error returns then the problem is related to the storage card.
There are some things you can try if it's related to the storage card:
    1. Set PocketBible to Check CF card ready on read. To do this:
      1. Open PocketBible.
      2. Tap View and Options.
      3. Tap the Advanced tab at the bottom. You may need to scroll to the right to find Advanced.
      4. Put a check mark in the box for the option Check CF card ready on read.
      5. Tap OK.
      6. Exit PocketBible by tapping the keyboard icon in the lower right corner. Tap CTL + Q to quit.
      7. Insert the card.
      8. Try PocketBible This has been successful for some, but not everyone.
    2. If you have the space, install the files to main memory. You may actually find that it's just one or two books causing the problem. Delete the Laridian Books folder on the storage card. Install just one or two books back to the storage card. Test PocketBible. If all is well, exit using CTL + Q, install a couple more, test, etc. If you hit a book where PocketBible fails again, delete it and reinstall just that book to main memory. Then try again.
    3. Try a different storage card.
