Constable’s Bible Study Notes, authored by Dr. Thomas L. Constable, provide expository commentary on all 66 books of the Bible in one large but convenient PocketBible book. Dr. Constable taught at Dallas Theological Seminary for 45 years, and served as the Chairman of its Bible Exposition department for 13 years. These notes are intended to help you to understand the Bible better.

In addition to providing specific commentary on every passage of the Bible, Constable includes detailed book introductions that include not just an overview and outline, but information on the date of writing, the writer, literary form, scope, subject matter, quotes, values, purpose, importance, theology, themes, message, and more. These introductions could be justifiably extracted and published as a book of their own.

The commentary includes over 200 charts and maps. You won't find superfluous color photos of flowers and scenery from the Holy Lands, just graphic illustrations of points made in the text.

Constable draws from a vast library of about 7000 bibliographic sources and supplies almost 60,000 links back into the Bible text.

About the Author(s)

Dr. Thomas L. Constable began his ministry as a teacher/professor at Dallas Theological Seminary in 1966. He retired in May, 2011. In addition to teaching thousands of young men and women in the Bible Exposition Department for 45 years, he also founded and directed the Field Education Department (1970-85), founded and directed the Center for Biblical Studies (1973), directed the Doctor of Ministry degree program (1979-96) and during his last 15 years (1996-2011) served as the Department Chairman of Bible Exposition.

In 1968, the Constables founded Plano Bible Chapel and Tom served as pastor until 1980. He has continued to serve as an elder and elder advisory council member, teacher and pulpit speaker to this day.

Through the years, Tom and his wife, Mary, have ministered in more than three dozen countries and have regularly hosted seminary students and families in their home. Their relational ministry has changed the lives of so many. Tom’s practical ministry of training pastors and missionaries to teach the Bible continues to multiply exponentially.
