Wiersbe Expository Outlines on the Old Testament

Available Platforms

Description

Even the most difficult Scriptures come alive as Warren Wiersbe leads you book-by-book through the Old Testament and helps you to see the "big picture" of God's revelation.

In this unique volume, you will find:

  • Introductions and/or outlines for every Old Testament book
  • Practical expositions of strategic chapters
  • Special studies on key topics, relating the Old Testament to the New Testament
  • Easy-to-understand expositions that are practical, preachable, and teachable

If you have used Dr. Wiersbe's popular BE series, you know how simple and practical his Bible studies are, with outlines that almost teach themselves. If not, you can now discover a wonderful new resource. This work is a unique commentary on every book of the Old Testament. It contains new material not to be found in the BE series.

From the Preface

The purpose of this book is to take you chapter-by-chapter through the Old Testament and give you the opportunity to study each book and its strategic chapters and learn how they fit into the total revelation God has given us of Christ and His redemptive work. The studies are concise and practical and are especially suitable for Sunday School classes and Bible study groups that want to examine God's Word in a systematic manner.

These studies grew out of the lessons I prepared for the Calvary Baptist Church, Covington, Kentucky, when I ministered there from 1961 to 1971. My godly predecessor, Dr. D.B. Eastep, had devised “The Whole Bible Study Course” which took the student through the Bible in seven years, three years in the Old Testament and four years in the New Testament. The lessons were duplicated and distributed week by week to the Bible School students. When requests began to come from other churches that wanted to follow the same study schedule, eventually the lessons were assembled in notebook form and published by the Calvary Book Room, the literature ministry of the church. Thousands of sets of these outlines have been distributed throughout the world and the Lord has seen fit to bless them in a singular way.

If you have used any of the volumes in my BE series, you will recognize a similar approach in these studies. However, there is material in this volume that is not found in the BE series; and it focuses on strategic chapters rather than a verse-by-verse approach. Even if you have my Bible Exposition Commentary, you will find this new volume helpful in your studies.
