Fatal Alert when using a T5 or LifeDrive and NIV with Study Bible Notes.

This error will occur on a T5 or LifeDrive when the NIV with Study Bible Notes is installed to main memory. Move the NIV SB files to internal storage or to an external storage location when using a T5 or LifeDrive and it will correct the problem. First, remove the NIV SB files from their current location:

  1. Open MyBible.
  2. Tap Edit and Delete Bible Module
  3. Remove the NIV SB modules (except Highlights)

You will find 2 sets of instructions on how to install to an internal or external storage location. The first set of instructions is for people who purchased their NIV with Study Bible Notes as a download from the Laridian website. The second set of instructions is for people who purchased a MDM Zondervan CD from a store. Customers who purchased a download To install to the internal storage location:

  1. Locate the setup file downloaded from our website (mb3nivsbsetup).
  2. Double-click the setup file and follow the installation instructions to the page which allows you to choose to either install to main memory or to an extension card location.
  3. Select the second option, for the extension card location.
  4. Complete the installation.
  5. HotSync
To install to an external storage card:
  1. On your desktop PC, open Quick Install.
  2. Click ADD
  3. For the Look in location at the top, click the down arrow and select your C drive.
  4. Double-click Program Files, Laridian and MyBible NIV Study Bible.
  5. Select the 4 NIVSB files and click Open.
  6. Drag and drop the 4 files from the upper window to the lower window.
  7. Exit Quick Install.
  8. HotSync and the files will transfer to the external storage location.
Customers who purchased a MDM Zondervan CD Place your CD in the drive but when the installation starts, cancel out.
  1. Double-click My Computer.
  2. Select Tools and Folder Options.
  3. Click the View tab at the top.
  4. Scroll down to where you see Show hidden files and folders and place a dot in the cirle.
  5. Right below that option, take the checkmark OUT of the box for Hide file extensions.
  6. Click OK and exit My Computer.
To install to the internal storage location:
  1. Connect your device.
  2. Select Drive Mode under Applications.
  3. Turn Drive Mode ON.
  4. On your DESKTOP PC, right-click Start and select Explore.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and look for a removeable drive letter that is listed. It's often the F drive but not always. If you're not sure which drive letter is your T5 drive, click each drive letter until you see Palm appear.
  6. Double-click the Palm folder and then Programs.
  7. At the top of Explore, click File, New, Folder.
  8. Enter MyBible (one word, no spaces) and press Enter.
  9. Locate and select your CD-ROM drive (NIV Study Bible). If the installation starts, cancel out. Then do a right-click on the CD-ROM drive and select Open. This will bypass the auto installer.
  10. Double-click the Content folder. You will see a large list of files.
  11. Locate the 4 NIV SB files in this list.
  12. Hold down your CTRL key and select all 4 files so they are highlighted.
  13. Click Edit and Copy.
  14. Click the MyBible folder you created previously on your T5 drive.
  15. Click Edit and Paste. The files will begin copying.
  16. Verify that the 4 NIV SB files copied into the MyBible folder and not the Programs folder.
  17. Turn Drive Mode OFF on your device.
  18. Disconnect.
  19. Open MyBible and you will have access to the NIV SB files and it won't cause any error messages.
To install to an external storage card:
  1. Open Quick Install in your Palm Desktop software.
  2. Click ADD.
  3. At the top for Look in click the down arrow and select your CD-Rom drive (NIV Study Bible).
  4. At the bottom of this dialog box, for Files of type, select All Palm File Types.
  5. Double-click the Content folder. You're going to see a bunch of files.
  6. Select the 4 NIV SB modules and click Open. You will see the four files in the upper window of Quick Install.
  7. Drag and drop these four files to the bottom window.
  8. Exit Quick Install and HotSync. You can use this same procedure to install any of your other Bible files to the external storage location.
