How do I install the iPocketBible text files to my iPod (Windows PC)?

NOTE: If you own an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch, you cannot install the text files.  They are not compatible with your type of device.  For information on the products that are compatible with your type of device go to www.laridian.com.  Select iPhone and iPod Touch.

For all other iPods:

These instructions assume that you are using iTunes version 7 or later and you downloaded the iPocketBible text file from the Laridian website.  CD/DVD installation instructions are listed below.

1. Login to your Laridian account and download (save) the file to a location on your desktop PC. Pay attention to where you are saving the file so you can find it when done with the download.
2. Connect your iPod and open iTunes
3. On the left you will see Device with the name of your iPod. Select it.  You will see new information appear on the right.
4. Under Options (you may need to scroll down) put a check mark in Enable disk use.
5. Select Apply.
6. Minimize your iTunes and go to the location of where you downloaded the setup file (iPocketBibleNLT.exe).
7. Double-click the setup file and specify the path of where you want the files extracted (such as C:\iPocketBible\).
8. When the files are done extracting, a "Browse for folder" dialog box will appear. Select the drive letter of your iPod. It could be the E drive, H, K, or something else.  Once you've selected the correct drive letter then continue with the installation.

NOTE: Due to limitations on ALL iPod devices, no matter what the size, you will not be able to install any more than 1000 of the Bible text files.  The entire Bible contains about 1800 note files.  This is not a limitation of the Laridian software.  This is a limitation of your iPod.  The iPocketBible installer will keep track of the number you are installing.  Do not go over the 1000 note limitation or it will not function properly.

9. When done with the installation return to iTunes and remove the check mark for Enable disk use and apply the changes.
10. Disconnect your iPod if it says that it is safe to disconnect.

7. Select the drive letter of your iPod. It could be the E drive, H, K, or something else.  Once you've selected the correct drive letter then continue with the installation.
