The Bible program did not respond. Verify that the most recent version of the Bible program...

There are several circumstances that can cause this error message to occur when tapping a Bible scripture link in DailyReader.

  • The Bible program identifier on the Bible Options page is not set correctly.
    1. Open DailyReader.
    2. Tap Options and Bible.
    3. Verify that Bible Program is set to mBib. This is case sensitive. If you use a different but compatible Bible program, enter its correct code. 
  • The Bible abbreviation on the translation line is incorrect.
    1. Open MyBible and select your preferred Bible.
    2. Check the abbreviation that is used to represent that Bible in MyBible.
    3. Open DailyReader.
    4. Tap Options and Bible.
    5. Verify that the Translation line matches the abbreviation you found in MyBible.  Or, you can leave it completely blank and then DailyReader will use whatever Bible translation was last open when in MyBible.
  • You have not installed MyBible or another compatible Bible reader. Do you own MyBible or another Bible reader application that you know is compatible with the Laridian DailyReader application? If not, you will not be able to use the Bible link in DailyReader. You will need to manually change over to your preferred Bible product to read the text or use your paper Bible. Or, you can order MyBible by returning to the Order Form and placing an order.

  • MyBible or DailyReader is installed to a storage card. In order for DailyReader and MyBible to work together, they both need to be installed to main memory. They take very little space (less than 1 meg total for both). The Bibles and book files can remain on the storage card. Those are the files that take up the most space.
  1. To see where you have them installed, go to the home screen of your Palm where it shows ALL at the top of your screen.
  2. Tap the upper-left corner where you see the time stamp and you will get a drop down menu.  Select Delete.
  3. At the top, where it shows device or handheld, tap the down arrow and select the card.
  4. Do you see either MyBible or DailyReader in the list of files on the card?  If yes, select them and delete them. Remember: it's ok to leave your books on the card.  You only need to make a deletion if you actually see the words MyBible or DailyReader on the list.  If it shows anything else you can leave them alone.
  5. If you deleted one or both from the card, reinstall the ones you deleted, HotSync, and they will transfer to main memory automatically.
