Priority Code:

When I attempt to highlight or underline a passage, the line or highlight disappears.

There are two things that can cause these symptoms:

  • This situation will occur when you have old MyBible 2 translation modules installed with MyBible 3, 4 or 5. If you've never owned MyBible previous to your purchase of version 3, 4 or 5 then skip down to the next bullet point. It's important that you delete all of your previous MyBible Bibles in order to ensure that MyBible will work as expected. If you have previously installed the NIV, for instance, and did not delete it prior to installing the updated NIV, then you may see unusual display behavior and certain MyBible features may not work as expected. To resolve this after installation:
    1. Start MyBible on your Palm OS device.
    2. Select Delete Bible Module from the Edit menu.
    3. Delete all modules related to your previous translation. They will have the word "module" in the file name and be numbered 1-8 and 1f-8f (if you had footnotes installed).
    4. Reinstall only the updated version of that translation listed in your Laridian account. The name of the updated translation file will have a 3 in the name such as mb3nivsetup or mb3nasbsetup (even if you own MyBible 4 or 5).

NOTE: If you own a CD and did not register the CD then you will not be eligible for the free, updated translation files that you need. Follow the instructions that came with the CD to get the CD properly registered.

  • MyBible is installed to a storage card instead of main memory. The default installation location of MyBible is main memory. If you bypassed the normal installation routine and installed the MyBible.prc file directly to a card or moved it to a card later, your highlights function may not work properly. To resolve this, move the MyBible.prc file from the storage location to main memory. Or delete it from the card and then reinstall to main memory.
