How do I install DailyReader and DailyReader books (CD)?

Complete, step-by-step instructions are included in the documentation that came with the CD. If you have lost that documentation or if you are still having trouble, additional instructions are listed below.

  • Installing from a Windows PC:
    1. Place the CD in the drive.
    2. Double-click My Computer.
    3. Right-click your CD ROM drive and select Open.
    4. Double-click DailyReader Setup and follow the instructions provided.
    5. Double-click the appropriate setup file for the devotional or reading plans you'd like to install for use with DailyReader and follow the instructions provided.
    6. HotSync and the files will transfer to the handheld.
    7. When done with the HotSync, go to the home screen of your handheld. Make sure it shows ALL in the upper right corner and then locate your DailyReader icon to open. NOTE: You must install both DailyReader and at least one devotional or reading plan. They are installed separately.

  • Installing from a Macintosh:
    1. Place your CD in the drive.
    2. Start the HotSync Manager application on your Mac, either from the Instant Palm Desktop menu on your menu bar, or by double-clicking the HotSync Manager application icon.
    3. Choose Install from the HotSync menu.
    4. Click and drag the dailyreader.prc file from the Macintosh folder on the CD to the Install window, or click the Add To List button to select the files individually from the CD, Macintosh folder.
    5. Click and drag the devotional or reading plan files you want installed from the Macintosh folder on the CD to the Install window. They will have a file ending of .pdb.
    6. HotSync and the files will transfer to the handheld.
    7. When done with the HotSync, go to the home screen of your handheld. Make sure it shows ALL in the upper right corner and then locate your DailyReader icon to open. NOTE: You must install both DailyReader and at least one devotional or reading plan. They are installed separately.
