  Laridian Bible Software Version History

The following are detailed version histories for each of our products that have had more than one version or edition.

PocketBible®/PalmBible Version History
Windows Mobile Classic, Windows Mobile Professional, and Pocket PC Edition

  • PocketBible 4.061 / Book Reader Engine 1.064 (December 4, 2008)
    Enhancements
    • Don't limit the length of Bible excerpts in the parallel view ("view in all Bibles"). This only affected the longest verses, like Est 8:9.
    • Add the Bible reference to the clipboard when copying verses using Copy Verse from the verse context menu.
  • PocketBible 4.060 / Book Reader Engine 1.063 (October 14, 2008)
    Enhancements
    • Trim leading and trailing spaces from look-up text before doing "look up in all dictionaries" from the Look Up dialog.
    • Extract a longer excerpt in the all dictionaries/commentaries view. Shows more of the context for some books.
    Fixes
    • Fixed note viewing on square screens. Text was flowing off the bottom of the screen.
    • Added a warning message in the event we detect that we're about to highlight a large quantity of verses. This is an attempt to capture the events that lead up to a "highlight flooding" bug where highlighting just keeps going until you shut down the program. We haven't been able to reproduce this in-house; hopefully this warning message will fire and help us track it down. If you get this message, follow the instructions in the message to send it to us.
  • PocketBible 4.059 / Book Reader Engine 1.063 (September 22, 2008)
    Enhancements
    • Loads images a lot faster.
    Fixes
    • Links to Strong's numbers from the NLT Study Bible cross-references were dead. Fixed this and other similar links to dictionaries from non-dictionaries.

    Enhancements
    • Support for God's Word Translation

  • PocketBible 4.057 / Book Reader Engine 1.062 (May 31, 2008)
    Enhancements
    • Keep the backlight turned on during autoscroll. Be careful not to leave auto-scroll running unattended as it will keep the power on and keep the l ight on until the battery is drained.
    • Add List button to Categories dialog to provide another way to get to the list of bookmarks in a category.
    Fixes
    • Symptom: selecting a book's tab on the GoTo page would not activate that book without also selecting a new verse or item from the table of contents. Fixed this so that the Go To dialog can be used to simply switch books even if you don’t want to go to a new location in the target book.
  • PocketBible 4.056 / Book Reader Engine 1.062 (May 20, 2008)

    • Added search result display options: Full verse, excerpt, and reference only. (Was "reference only" or "excerpt".)
    • Add a small left margin to non-Bible search results to allow for taps on the left.
    • Treat carriage return in notes like a paragraph break if there are no HTML paragraph-like tags in the note.
    • "Next/Prev List Item" navigation option now scrolls by item when the list window is active. "Next/Prev Verse or Line" was scrolling by line in the list window. It now scrolls by item.

    • Fixed an unreported bug in which text selection didn't update the status bar.

    • Search results for non-Bibles now display in fewer lines and support either an excerpt or just the table of contents path.
    • Added support for the New Century Version (NCV).
    Fixes
    • Changed the way highlights are indexed, requiring a one-time conversion when the program is launched.
    • Fixed unreported bug in which Copy Passage on a non-Bible book would copy the rest of the book in some circumstances.
    • Fixed unreported bug in which it was sometimes impossible to correctly select text in a table.
    • Fixed unreported bug that resulted in buffer overflow and unknown side-effects when viewing certain table-like constructs in the TSK.

    • Added preferred Strongs Greek and Hebrew Dictionary settings to the options.
    Fixes
    • Disabled database caching at the file level so that all writes are write-through. This reduces the likelihood that OS or OEM-specific file caching could result in lost or corrupted data.
  • PocketBible 3.042 / Book Reader Engine 1.058 (September 22, 2006)
This is a recommended update for all PocketBible 3 users.
    Fixes
