Topic Suggestions

Laridian and its products offer several angles to pursue that would interest your audience. Here are just a few.

  • Some dot-coms are profitable! Laridian, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earns most of its revenue through Web-based sales. In addition, virtually all of its customer support, product delivery, and product development are Internet-based.
  • Laridian's Bible software for pocket-sized computers brings the convenience, power, and ease-of-use of computerized Bible study and reading in about the same size as a pocket New Testament!
  • Laridian's President, Craig Rairdin, created QuickVerse in 1988 and subsequently was Vice President of Parsons Technology's Church Software Division for the next 10 years. (QuickVerse is the award-winning and top-selling Bible software package for Windows computers 3.) Craig's experience in the software and Bible-publishing industry makes him uniquely qualified to discuss electronic publishing.
  • Publication of the Bible has fueled publishing developments since Gutenberg's invention of moveable type. The latest trend toward e-books is no different. While e-books are thought to be a newer development, the Bible has been published as an e-book for over 20 years. Craig has been involved in electronic publishing of the Bible since its fledgling days, and is able to speak authoritatively on the subject.
  • Publish a review of MyBible, PocketBible or iPocketBible. The mix of the Bible and modern technology is a compelling combination.
