  About Laridian
Read the cover story from Christian Computing

Laridian, Inc. is a privately-held software development and marketing company specializing in electronic publishing for handheld, mobile computers such as Pocket PC and Palm OS® handhelds. Most of the products the company sells are owned by their developers and licensed for distribution by Laridian.

The name "Laridian" is from a Greek word that means "a small book."

Laridian featured on the cover of Christian Computing Magazine.

Most of the owners and employees of Laridian are former employees of Parsons Technology, developers of QuickVerse Bible software for Windows.

  • Laridian President Craig Rairdin wrote the first version of QuickVerse and took it to Parsons in 1988 after selling it from his home for several months. Craig became a company Vice President at Parsons, where he built the Church Software Division into the largest Bible software publisher in the world.
  • Laridian Vice President Jeff Wheeler came to Parsons in 1989 and headed up development for QuickVerse, Membership Plus, and all other Church Software Division products.
  • Laridian Vice President Jim VanDuzer was hired by Parsons in 1995 as Director of Electronic Publishing and was responsible for bringing over 500 titles into the QuickVerse family.
  • Laridian Director of Customer Service Patty Brockett served in various positions during her eight years at Parsons Technology, including outbound telemarketing, inbound sales, online support and phone support. In her most recent position she was responsible for coordinating the efforts of technical support, marketing, and development as they related to customer support issues on Parsons Church products.

Craig and Jim are also credited with the creation of the Standard Template for Electronic Publishing (STEP) standard data format for Bible reference materials. Scott left Parsons in October 1998; Craig in December 1998; Jim and Jeff in January 1999; Patty in September 2000.

If you have developed a Christian software product for Windows CE, the Palm OS or another palm-top device and are looking for a marketing partner, we might be interested. Send an email to Craig Rairdin, President, at craigr@laridian.com.
